One UI 9 Beta for Galaxy S26 Adds Fold-Style Tools and Call Brief

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 9 beta for its Galaxy S26 series, bringing several features previously found on its foldable devices to the standard lineup. The update was detailed by Notebookcheck on Friday, August 28, 2026, citing Samsung’s official announcements.

According to Notebookcheck, the beta introduces interface tools and multitasking options that were earlier exclusive to Samsung’s Z Fold and Z Flip lines. The report notes that the company is aiming to unify the software experience across its premium phones, giving S26 users access to the same flexible layouts and app behaviors that foldable owners have enjoyed.

In addition to the fold-style features, Samsung has confirmed a new Call Brief function for the Galaxy S26, as reported by Sammy Fans. This tool is designed to make phone calls smarter by automatically generating a summary of key points during or after a conversation. The feature appears to be part of Samsung’s broader push to integrate AI more deeply into everyday phone use.

The latest beta version, identified as Beta 6, also addresses a common complaint. Android Authority reports that Samsung has finally added a way to disable accidental AI Select triggers. Previously, users could invoke the AI-powered selection tool unintentionally, which interrupted normal screen interactions. The new toggle gives users control over when the feature activates.

The One UI 9 beta is currently available for Galaxy S26 models, though Samsung has not specified a timeline for the stable public release. Users who enroll in the beta program can test the new tools and provide feedback before the final version ships.

What to watch next: Samsung’s next beta update may reveal whether Call Brief and the foldable features will also arrive on older Galaxy devices, such as the S25 or S24 series.
